Optional Packing service
Most people want their cards packed in glass clear 'cello' bags, for protection and to increase the perceived value. Most shops insist upon this. You can either do this yourself, by ordering just the inexpensive Glass Clear Polycarbonate 'cello' bags above, and packing them yourself, or we can pack them for you, ready for sale. The packing price is the same, whatever size cards you order. The correct size cello bags are extra (see above). Available at the checkout.

Single sided print - NO extra charges
Cards may be printed just one side (i.e. the outside front and the outside back of the card) or both sides (the outside front, the outside back and either or both of the insides). There is no extra charge to add your imprint and website details on the back, together with your logo and a thumbnail of the front of the card if required. Many people prefer to sell cards that are blank inside and if this is the case, you may want us to print "This card is blank inside" on the outside back of the card.

CMYK and RGB - does it matter?
All printing, litho or digital, is printed CMYK. RGB is displayed on monitors. It is NOT possible for anyone to print RGB without it being to converted to CMYK first. We will do this conversion for you before proofing and printing, so feel free to supply RBG artwork or RGB images if you wish. Some colours change occur when images are converted to CMYK (greens, oranges and blues particularly). This is unavoidable due to the smaller colour gamut of CMYK. More information on RGB versus CMYK

Multiple Greeting Card versions
Our prices assume that all the cards are printed to ONE design. If you require extra versions (i.e. 250 off each of two designs, making 500 in total or 50 off each of four designs, making 200 in total) we only charge an extra £10 for each extra design. For example, 500 cards off two designs (250 off each) would only cost an extra £10 (plus VAT). This option is available on the order form after you have uploaded your images.

Greetings card despatch is just 3-4 working days from proof acceptance - why wait?
We do not despatch or deliver at weekends. Diamond flap envelopes are FREE with every order. GB mainland delivery is also free. We also supply crystal clear Cello bags, ideal if you wish to resell your greetings cards.

Greetings card layout
Layout and proofing is FREE once you have placed your order (we do not create proofs without a paid order from you). Just upload your image during the order process and we will do the rest. We can reduce your image to fit the card, so don't worry if it is too large. RGB images are fine as well, we'll convert to CMYK for you, so just send your original camera file, with any cropping instructions. Logo design and complex artwork is extra if required. (Please ask us to quote if you are unsure).

Barcodes on Greeting Cards
Many larger stores and garden centres require a barcode printed on the back of the greeting card. This is easier than you may think. Click for details of how to add a barcode to your greeting card designs.

Greeting Card Quality guarantee - our promise to you.
We always supply a printed proof (unless you request an emailed PDF proof to speed up production time). However, if you are not happy with the proof once you have received it, we will re-proof until you are totally satisfied.

Cancellations
Naturally, if you choose to cancel the order before the work is printed, we reserve the right to charge for the preparation work that we have undertaken.

Our greetings card board - Environmentally Friendly Board from sustainable forests
Our greetings cards are printed on environmentally friendly "Invitation" board. No natural forests are destroyed in the making of "Invitation" board. Only farmed timber is used in the making of the board and the envelopes. Invitation board is made from 100% Elemental Chlorine Free (ECF) woodpulps, sourced from fully sustainable, carefully managed and renewed forests where at least two trees are planted for every one felled. Invitation is fully recyclable and is manufactured to precise and controlled standards. The supplier is registered under the British and international quality standard BS EN ISO 9001-2000 and the environmental standard BS EN ISO 14001. Invitation board contains fibre from mixed sources and woodpulps, including a proportion of recycled fibres.

Greetings cards are available in two styles, all featuring your own image or artwork on the front. Any wording may be added to your image and any wording or logo may be printed on the outside back and (if ordered as double sided) inside.

Sizes
We now produce FOUR standard sizes of printed greetings cards.
A6 size is A5, scored to fold to A6 - finished size 148mm x 105mm. These fit C6 size envelopes (supplied FREE with all orders) All cards are creased and supplied flat, ready for you to fold to size and pack with the envelope.
A5 size is A4, scored to fold to A5 - finished size 210mm x 148mm. These fit C5 size envelopes (supplied FREE with all orders) All cards are creased and supplied flat, ready for you to fold to size and pack with the envelope.
5" x 7" size is 254mm x 178mm, scored to fold to 128mm x 178mm. These fit special size envelopes (supplied FREE with all orders) All cards are creased and supplied flat, ready for you to fold to size and pack with the envelope.
140mm SQUARE is 280mm x 140mm, scored to fold to 140mm x 140mm. These fit special size envelopes (supplied FREE with all orders) All cards are creased and supplied flat, ready for you to fold to size and pack with the envelope.

Cello bags
If you are selling your greetings cards, it makes sense for you to pack each card and the envelope individually in a glass- clear "cello bag". Cello bag prices They are peel and seal, so no sealing label is required.

We offer inexpensive, top quality "glass-clear" polycarbonate "peel and seal" cello bags in four sizes - to fit A6, A5, 5" x 7" and 140mm square cards.. The bags will each hold one card and one envelope (free envelopes are supplied with the cards). The option to cello bags purchase is available when you place an order for any size cards. These bags are just like the ones you see in card shops and will make your cards look very professional, as well as keeping them clean. See Cello bag larger picture For larger orders, we can offer a packing service, with printed "message inside card" slips if required. Packing in 5's or 10's is also available if required. Please ask for details via our enquiry form. The usual way to pack a card in a cello bag is to open the card, place the envelope inside and then tuck into a clello bag. This way, the reverse of the card is visible to the purchaser.

Multiple orders
The above prices assume that all the cards are the same. If you want to order multiple images (i.e. 250 off each of two cards = 500 cards) at present, we charge just £10 extra for each card AFTER the first one. Therefore two different cards within a quantity would add £10 plus VAT. For example, 100 cards with five designs would cost the standard 100 price PLUS an extra £10 for each extra image - 4 x £10 = £40 extra - plus VAT. Our FREE design archive service will store each card design indefinately, so there is NO EXTRA CHARGE for multiple images when you re-order. FREE Envelopes
Good quality, suitably sized white diamond-flap greetings cards envelopes are supplied FREE with every order for greetings cards. Why pay extra elsewhere? We also recommend our crystal clear peel and seal cello bags.

Colour matching
Please note that ALL forms of printing (litho, digital or even your budget desktop inkjet printer) are based on the CMYK colour system, which has a very narrow range of available colours, compared to your television, camera or computer monitor. We will happily accept RGB files and images to print, but the colours we print are likely to be different to those seen on your screen and inkjet printer. This is why we send you a hard copy proof in the post. If colour is critical or important to you, we recommend that you send us a hard copy print-out to try to match to. Please also note that whoever prints your image, printed colours can never be as bright as those seen on your computer screen. See an explanation of the CMYK process. Naturally, it is very easy to alter the brightness and colours of your computer monitor, but this will not alter the original file.

Greeting card publishers - archive service
We offer a special FREE GOLD service for greeting card publishers (however small). After your initial order(s), we archive your design(s) for a minimum of 10 years, with our onsite archive AND duplicated safe and secure offsite storage, at no charge to you. In reality, this means that you can trust us to hold virtual "stock" for you, which may be called off at any time, with just a few days notice. There is NO mimimum order for each design. You just pay the standard rate as above and include as many designs in your order as you wish.
Example: Let us assume that we hold ten of your designs in our archive. Some sell better than others, naturally. You then order 200 cards at the price above. You request 40 off design A, 30 off design B, 30 off design C and 100 off design D (design D sells better). You only pay the standard 200 cards rate, yet receive exactly what you need.

Layout

Despatch
Quantities up to 500 cards are usually despatched 3 - 4 working days after proof acceptance - sometimes faster.

Delivery
Free delivery is by Post for small quantities and usually takes 2-3 days from when we despatch. Special Delivery is available at an extra cost of £7.50 plus VAT and usually arrives the day after we despatch. Special delivery needs to be signed for. See further details about delivery and collection.

How can I sell my greetings cards?

Greetings cards are ever-popular and sell for quite a high price in the shops. You can incorporate your own artwork or design or use a photograph that you have taken.

If you are offering cards featuring your local area, pop into local pubs, post offices, general stores, tourist attractions, petrol stations and offer to keep them stocked on a sale or return basis.

Package the cards, with an envelope, individually in cello bags to keep your stock clean. In this way, if you get returns, you can offer them for sale again elsewhere.

If you are a church, school or charity, make sure that all of your members, friends and parents are aware that you are offering greetings cards for sale. Most people buy dozens of cards every year, so will be pleased to buy them from you to raise funds. Women buy the most cards, so make sure that your designs are attractive to the ladies.

Our Environmental Policy
Centreprint take your concern for the environment very seriously. All board and paper used in the production of our greeting cards and envelopes is always sourced from well managed forests that are FSC certified sources, where at least three trees are re-planted for every one that is felled. The trees are grown as a crop (as with annual crops such as wheat) only our trees are harvested over an eight to ten year time scale before being replaced with at least three new saplings for the future. Tree production provides the planet with oxygen and removes carbon from the atmosphere, as well as providing a habitat for wildlife and leisure. The printing process we use is digital and uses no metal printing plates or oil based inks. Very minimal waste is produced due to the process used and what waste there is is sorted, collected and recycled.
